Identification

20-22 cm

  • Greyish-brown, barred, streaked and vermiculated, upperparts
  • Sandy brown underparts

Yellow iris

Distribution

Mount Karthala on Grand Comoro Island (Comoro Islands).

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Primary evergreen forest edges from 650m and scrubby montane heaths.

Behaviour

The diet includes insects and invertebrates.

Vocalisation

Whistled toot.
