Genus: Leptopterus

Description

This genus contains only one species, the Chabert Vanga from Madagascar.

Taxonomy

Leptopterus is a monotypic genus in the family Vangidae.
Madagascar Blue Vanga, Comoro Blue Vanga and White-headed Vanga were included in this genus by some authorities.
A new molecular-genetic analysis has shown that this genus is closest to Newtonia which used to be placed within the Old World Warblers.
