Genus: Hydropsalis

Description

Four South American species of Nightjar.

Taxonomy

Hydropsalis is a genus in the family Caprimulgidae. A proposal for the SACC wants to make this a much larger genus by adding all members of genera Uropsalis, Eleothreptus, Nyctidromus, Macropsalis, Nyctiprogne, Lurocalis, and five species from Caprimulgus (Band-winged Nightjar, Roraiman Nightjar, Little Nightjar, Scrub Nightjar, and Blackish Nightjar).
