Genus: Gymnasio
Description
Puerto Rican Owl was shown to be more closely related to Flammulated Owl than to members of genus Megascops, but still different enough that it should stay in a separate genus. Therefore this monotypic genus.
Taxonomy
Gymnasio is a genus in the family Strigidae. The lone member used to be considered a member of Megascops.
