Genus: Coracornis
Description
This genus used to contain just one species, the poorly known Maroon-backed Whistler from Sulawesi.
It differs from other Whistlers having an unique colour pattern, longer rictal bristles, nostril shape and shape of primaries and rectrices.
The rare and little known Sangihe Whistler is now also placed in this genus.
Taxonomy
Coracornis is a genus in the Family Pachycephalidae.
It's sometimes included in Pachycephala. Sangihe Whistler was formerly included in genus Colluricincla.
