Distribution
African islands: found only in the Cape Verde Islands. Extirpated on São Nicolau and Brava.

This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Valleys with plenty of vegetation.
Behaviour
Breeding
It suspends its nest in reed beds. The clutch consists of 2-3 eggs.
