Western Africa: Senegambia, Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Mali, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Chad, eastern Cameroon, Central African Republic and north-eastern DRC
Eastern Africa: found only in southern Sudan

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1] but it is considered by some authors to be a subspecies of the Variable Indigobird.[2]
