Distribution
South America: found in central Amazonia, from eastern Colombia, and southern Venezuela, east to Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana; south to southeastern Peru (Madre de Dios), northern Bolivia and south central Amazonian Brazil (south to Mato Grosso).
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Subspecies viridissima is not generally recognised[2].
Habitat
Dry shrubland, moist and white-sand forests.

Diet
They hawk for insects.
