Identification
Length 13 cm
Adult male: White underparts with a broad blue-black band across belly; black upperparts with blue or green iridescent sheen; bare red wattle above the eye.
Adult female: Similar to the male, but throat and breast black.
Similar Species
Black-throated Wattle-eye is similar, but the upper parts are not glossy, and the breast-band of the male is narrower.

Bamenda Mountains (western Cameroon)

This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Montane forest.
Status
Endangered as a result of habitat loss.
