    Bird of the day today for me was male Kentucky warbler . not a life bird but finally got to get good close view of a singing male. I had heard there was one calling near to where i am staying so waited and waited patiently over a couple of days and finally saw him !!

    Hi Casey where in New Mexico are you ? i am just over the border in Window Rock AZ and the hummers are mostly gone , i have seen only two all week ? i was in Farmington for July and August and noted quite often the yellow jackets would chase off the hummers !!

    Vancouver Island/Pac Rim national park Sept.: sites to suggest?

    Hi can recommend the George Reifel bird refuge on the mainland near Vancouver , lots of variety there and on Sundays they do a guided walk. also good for Loons seabirds on the ferry crossing from Nanaimo, as well as on the island itself. a good guide to Vancouver Island is by Keith Taylor.
