• Bluish-grey top of head, cheeks and nape
• Yellowish-green wash on forehead
• Yellowish-green throat
  • Yellow neck
• Yellow feet and legs

Asia: found in China, Nepal, Pakistan, India, Eastern and Western Himalayas, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh
Southeast Asia: Indochina, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.

Taxonomy

Subspecies

Five subspecies are recognized:^[1]

• T. p. phillipsi:

• Sri Lanka

• T. p. chlorigaster

• Peninsular India south of the Gangetic Plain

• T. p. phoenicopterus:

• Eastern Pakistan and northern India to Assam and Bangladesh

• T. p. viridifrons:

• Extreme southwest China (Yunnan) to Myanmar and northwest Thailand

• T. p. annamensis:

• East Thailand to south Laos and south Vietnam

Habitat

Dry decideous forests amongst fruiting trees, gardens.

Behaviour

Diet

The diet includes fruit, especially figs.
