Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela.

T. o. ferrugineifrons
Southeastern Colombia east to southern Venezuela, extreme western Guyana, and northwestern Brazil (west of the Rio Negro), south to northeastern Peru and western Amazonian Brazil south of the Amazon, east to the west bank of the Madeira River
