At best in late summer or early autumn when the canal useage has dropped the water level and the site can then attract waders. Can be busy though so birds rarely stay long. Pool beyond footbridge in the SE of the site can be of interest
Access and Facilities
Access is legitimate only from footpath at the stream-in end to the S where a footpath runs from Bagnall across the reservoir bridge, and also from the main entrance - a footpath runs along the main entrance road and exits to the R of the dam making it possible to park in Puddy Lane below the dam and walk up path beside dam-pool to view across the water.
