Identification
11.5cm. Metallic bronze green upperparts, blue green tail, small white spot behind each eye, green throat and breast, feathers are tipped buff giving the appearance of scales, buff abdomen, black upper mandible, lower reddish tipped with black.
Distribution
Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Panama.
Taxonomy
Habitat
Moist lowland forest of scattered tall trees and coffee plantations.
Behaviour
The diet includes nectar and insects caught in flight.
