Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, French Guiana, Guyana, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
Taxonomy
There are three subspecies.1
- A. l. parvus
- Western Panama
- A. l. lutescens
- A. l. peruvianus
Habitat
Temperate grassland, seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland, and pastureland.
