- Treron bicinctus
Identification
29cm. Bright green face, back wings and belly, grey rear head and nape, black flight feathers, grey tail. The male has a patch on the breast, bordered above by lilac, and yellower on its lower edge. The female has yellowish green underparts.
Distribution
Himalayas, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
Taxonomy
Habitat
Hill forests and other woodlands.
Behaviour
It builds a stick nest in a tree and lays two white eggs.
The diet includes seeds and fruits of a wide variety of plants.
