Hippolais polyglotta

Identification

12-13cm. Plain brown back and wings, yellow underparts, strong and pointed bill, brown legs. The sexes are identical.

Distribution

Southwest Europe and northwest Africa.

Taxonomy

The Melodious Warbler (Hippolais polyglotta) is an Old World warbler in the tree warbler genus Hippolais.

Habitat

Open woodland with bushes.

Behaviour

3-5 eggs are laid in a nest in a tree or a bush.

Diet includes insects and berries.

The song is a pleasant babbling.
