Distribution
Central and South America: found in Panama and Colombia.
Taxonomy
Subspecies
Four subspecies are recognized1:
- M. v. vitellinus:
- M. v. amitinus:
- Escudo de Veraguas Island (off northern Panama)
- M. v. milleri:
- Northern Colombia in Sinú and lower Cauca valleys
- M. v. viridiventris:
- Western Colombia west of western Andes and east side in upper Cauca Valley
Habitat
Rain forest and forest borders.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists of small fruits and insects.
