Identification

Distribution
Breeds in western Alaska and northern Palearctic; winters northern Africa to western Iran.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Eudromias vs. Charadrius
One authority (Sibley & Monroe, 1996) places Eurasian Dotterel (morinellus) in the monotypic genus Eudromias. However, most others place it within Charadrius and the Opus follows in this consensus.
Habitat
Tundra and mountain areas; winters in semi desert.
Behaviour
Breeding
The nest is a bare ground scrape. Two to four eggs are incubated by the male who also cares for the young.
