Distribution

Asia: found from the mountains of Nepal to south-eastern Tibet, south-western China and north-eastern Myanmar.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].
Formerly placed in genus Pinicola.

Habitat

Temperate shrubland and forests.
