Gill and Donsker & Clements now place the following species in this genus, formerly placed in genus Dendrocopos or Picoides:

Clements et al. moved the following additional six species from the genus Picoides to here following the 59th Supplement to the AOS Checklist.


Dryobates is a genus in the Family Picidae.
