Identification

Male - shiny blue black, female - dark brown.

Distribution

Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela.

Taxonomy

Four subspecies, concreta, toddi (also known as caerulescens), cyanoides, and rothschildii.

Habitat

Moist lowland forests.

Behaviour

The diet includes seeds.
