Identification

Distribution

Central and South America:
Central America: Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama
South America: Colombia, Ecuador

Taxonomy

There are 3 subspecies:

  • X. l. lachrymosus:
  • X. l. eximius:
  • X. l. alarum:
  • Tropical northern Colombia (Sinú, Cauca and Magdalena valleys)

Habitat

Lowland rainforests and mangrove forests.
