Identification
Length 9 cm. Green-blue eye wattle.
Male: The head, throat, upper breast and upperparts are glossy green-black with a white rump; lower breast and belly yellowish white.
Female: Similar to the male, but less glossy; eye wattle is smaller.
Distribution
Western Africa: found in southern Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Angola
African Islands: Bioko (Fernando Po)
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1], sometimes considered a subspecies of Red-cheeked Wattle-eye.[3]
This species is placed in the genus Dyaphorophyia by some authorities.[2]
Habitat
Dense undergrowth of forest and old plantations.

Series of notes tee di-dee-deee dee dee durr decending in pitch; also a dry tik chee hee.
