Identification

Distribution

Asia: Russia, Siberia, China, Nepal, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong
Southeast Asia: Indochina, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Subspecies ussuriana is not recognised by all authorities[1].

Habitat

Temperate forests and gardens. Breeds in dense undergrowth such as dwarf bamboo.

Behaviour

Diet

Feeds on or close to the grown in thick undergrowth. Their diet consists of insects and larva.
