Identification
10·5–11 cm (4-4¼ in)
- Greyish crown and mantle
- Rufous upper parts and flight feathers
Distribution
South America: found from south-eastern Colombia to southern Venezuela, north-eastern Peru and northwestern Brazil.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species.
Formerly considered conspecific with Rufous-backed Antwren and Madeira Antwren under the name Stipple-throated Antwren.
Habitat
They are mostly found in the understorey of lowland evergreen forests (generally terra firme forests)
Behaviour
Diet
The diet consists mostly of insects and spiders.
