Taxonomy
This species has been involved in several rounds of splitting, and as such, name usage is somewhat confused. White-vented Myna (Acridotheres javanicus) and Pale-bellied Myna (Acridotheres cinereus) used to be together under the name of Pale-bellied Myna. Prior to that, both were included in Acridotheres grandis under the name of White-vented Myna; however, Acridotheres grandis is currently used for Great Myna which is, however, sometimes called White-vented Myna.
