Distribution

Sub-Saharan Africa: Ethiopia, Kenya, eastern Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, north-eastern South Africa, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Zambia, northern and eastern Botswana, northern Namibia, western and southern Angola.

Taxonomy

Lagonosticta rhodopareia has three subspecies:[1]

  • L. r. rhodopareia
  • L. r. jamesoni
  • L. r. ansorgei

Habitat

Thickets and grassy scrub in savanna and dry woodland.
