- Brown with pink tinge from forehead to back
- Red uppertail-coverts
- Black tail
Distribution
Sub-Saharan Africa: Ethiopia, Kenya, eastern Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, north-eastern South Africa, eSwatini, Zimbabwe, Zambia, northern and eastern Botswana, northern Namibia, western and southern Angola.

Lagonosticta rhodopareia has three subspecies:[1]
- L. r. rhodopareia
- L. r. jamesoni
- L. r. ansorgei
Habitat
Thickets and grassy scrub in savanna and dry woodland.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists of small seeds, termites and other insects.
