Identification

Distribution

Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela.

Taxonomy

Sixteen subspecies are recognized in this species. A recent proposal will elevate one of these (A.r. rufipectus) to a full species occurring in the Santa Marta region of Colombia (and with most likely name "Santa Marta Foliage-Gleaner").

Habitat

Moist lowland forests and montanes. The subspecies rufipectus belongs in semihumid forest, so less humid than others.
