9–10 cm (3½-4 in); the only euphonia in its range with white lores.

Distribution
South America: found throughout the Amazon basin in Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil.

Canopy of humid Amazon lowland forest, river edges and swamps. Observed at heights around 290 m.
