Identification
16–18 cm (6-7 in)
- Bright chesnut overall plumage
Distribution
South America: found in Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru.
Taxonomy
Subspecies
Four subspecies recognized[1]:
- S. u. unirufa in Colombia and east Ecuador
- S. u. munoztebari in east Colombia and west Venezuela
- S. u. meridana in extreme east Colombia and west Venezuela
- S. u. ochrogaster in Peru
Habitat
Found in the undergrowth and edges of humid cloud and montane evergreen forests.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists mostly of arthropods.
