Sweden

Overview

Wet meadows and a shallow, eutrophic lake form the main habitats of this area in the south of the island of Gotland that is now a Ramsar Site. It lies on the southern side of the Faludden headland which can be a good site for seabird migration.

Birds

Notable Species

There is a range of breeding wetland birds including Greylag Goose, Ruff, Pied Avocet and Caspian Tern. The area is also noted for the frequent occurrence of rarities which have included Blue-cheeked Bee-eater, Greater Flamingo and Black Stork.

From Burgsvik take the eastward road and fork right after 2km, continue for 3km to the Stockviken signpost and the observation tower can be seen after 2km.
