Your Most Recent "Life" Bird (2 Viewers)

A trip to the Pyrenees at the end of August produced just the one but very satisfying lifer in Lammergeier.

Added bonus was I first glimpsed it on the French side of the border and then shortly later saw (probably) the same bird on the Spanish side - so it goes on both country lists. Not so much two birds with one stone as two countries with one bird.

Completely forgot the Pallid Harrier I saw in Dorset last month was actually my last lifer! (Oops)

I managed to snag a pre-lifer today, depending on which checklist you use. The Brown Booby split has already been accepted, but I use Clement's/eBird taxonomy for convenience. The updates for it go into effect in one week, but I managed to see a Brown Booby in the Caribbean today which will now be my lifer "Brown Booby" as all the Brown Boobys I've seen before today have been in the Pacific and will now be Cocos Boobys starting next week.

Red-bellied Woodpecker, Mustang, OK, USA on my first business trip to the US.

Sorry for the intrusion but I am visiting Dubai for a 3 day conference in January and am looking for some advice re birding Dubai without a car. I am staying at the Holiday Inn at the airport. Are there any accessible spots that don’t involve too many taxis?
Pharaoh Owl and or Pallid Scops would be amazing but assuming they would require a car.
Thank you in anticipation.
