Would be a nice armchair tick if a little unexpected. Was an instructive bird in the field and nice to see the biometrics proving more robust than plumage characters.

What's the rules here? If you see a bird and you cannot identify it yourself, can you tick it?
There are no rules, it's your list, tick what you want
Tell that to the listing police when they kick down your door at 2am! Ticking birds on DNA evidence - whatever next?!
Did you tick the Amur falcon?
Went up to 27, good up there at the moment, a tit flock had two goldcrest and a willow tit, a green woodpecker still up there, redwings, bullfinches usual stuff. No waxwings there (yet).

A cursory glance at some rarity threads suggests to me there are rules.
Do you mean my Maribou Stork has to come off the list?
Nice one, stuck a preliminary report on Birdguides, where are they and how many?
Depends - did you identify it?
There were a pair on the south side of the Haven holiday site.
Me too:t:gonna be based in whitby at weekend. is there a spot near there i can get rough legged buzzard? I will be using mostly yhte bus and some feet action to get it. AM guessing most of the sites would be nowhere near transport?
I know the whitby to scarborough bus is REALLY slow. is it worth going to filey to see if anything is about?
advice appreciated )
Happy to buy a pint if any local birders fancy a chat in the black horse?
Good views of Rough-legged buzzards at Sleddale today ...............
