The last post... (1 Viewer)

Oh dear, I have not been on the forums properly for some time and am shocked and saddened by this news... belated but heartfelt condolences to Erica and family.

Best wishes

Another voice to add to the condolences Erica and family. Hopefully it is of some small comfort to know that Richard was so highly thought of by many birders who, like me, never even met him.

Erica and family, as another on here who never met Richard but held him in the highest regard, my heartfelt belated condolences on this most saddening news.

I've been lurking on Bird Forum for years, but couldn't let this pass without adding my own voice (and my first post) to the long parade of hats being tipped to the passing of Richard Klim. At the time that he initiated this thread I was far from internet (in the Kyrgyz Tien Shan), and so missed his 'news' at the time, and only became aware of it today. Having read through the six pages of this thread it is clear that there have been many, many of us out there who held him in very high esteem indeed. Condolences to Erica and his family, but take heart that there are many of us out there around the world (skulkers included!) who will miss him a great deal.

So embarrassed to learn about Richard's passing only now. A great loss for the Klim family and a great loss for the Forum family. His posts were usually the very first I read when visiting the Forum. He had a brilliant mind. Seemed like a decent bloke too !

It is just beyond one year since Richard Klim's The Last Post, post May 18, 2016. And coming up on his death day May 29, 2016. All may want to do some kind of death day anniversary ritual according to your customs. I'm going to go out and watch birds.
