On the other hand Moray (Logie's elder chick) does not seem to have read any books on osprey migration and is going in the wrong direction. He is now in the Isle of Lewis. I hope he does not head out into the Atlantic from there.

Makes really interesting reading. Thanks for that Tiger.
Interesting to read that Roy finally managed to trap a male osprey (Red 7J) yesterday and has satellite tagged him. He was the young male spotted early in the season on Logie's nest with Beatrice! He has been named Nimrod.

This has made rivetting viewing for me since Logie's migration there and back last year. If I could have access to only one website, I'm afraid BF would have to go in favour of this one!

Yes it is great and it now looks as if we get to hear from Roy Dennis on a daily basis.
We get five ospreys to follow this year (six if Logie reappears).

Glen is visiting Lough Allen in County Leitrim. Back in the sevnties there was a lovely song called "Lovely Leitrim" and it featured Loch Allen.
If Glen continues south he will face a long journed over the sea to Spain. Mind you it has been done successfully before.

I've been following RD's blog since he set it up too Tiger. Very sad news about Moray.
Re: weather: We've had horrendous lashing rain and high winds the past week on the South/West Coast, my constant concern has been whether the Osprey pop. will migrate successfully. Saw one female Osprey in Hampshire last week but it appeared to be unringed from a distance. The weather down here could be one of the reasons for Lodgie's early departure prior to bad weather, and perhaps the trouble her chicks have had up in Scotland in setting themselves on the ''right'' course down South.

It is great news. Beatrice pressed on yesterday and is now north of Madrid. She is using almost exactly the same route that she used on the way south.
