Protective Case for Nikon 10x25 Stabilised S (1 Viewer)

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a protective case that would fit the Nikon 10x25 Stablised S binocular? I've been looking at the ZEISS Terra ED Pocket Carrying Case but it's possibly to small and there is none in stock near me to try it out.

Regards,
Oli

Oli, if I were you I'd widen my search. Look for small bags that were originally designed for compact cameras etc. Makers to look out for are e.g. LowePro, Tenba, Tamrac and Domke. But there are many others. Many of these bags, like those made by LowePro and Tenba, are very high quality. If there's still a camera shop near where you live, it might pay to go there, take the binoculars and have a look. I bought a lot of small bags and cases over the years, many of them at reduced prices. You can never have too many small bags ... I sometimes struck gold and found old Leica and Zeiss leather bags at ridiculously low prices.

By the way, it would be nice if you could write a review of the Nikon. There are three on the forum, but it would be nice to have a few more. And up to now not many people seem to have handled the 10x25S. Doesn't need to be a technical review, just your impressions, ideally in comparison to other binoculars you know.

Hi Oli,

Great advice from @Hermann and if you can, do take your bino’s and try a selection of cases for fit, looks and the level of protection you require.

Without knowing your location in the UK it is difficult to advise on any shops local to you but Amazon stock quite a selection and their returns policy is good should it not be suitable. Lowepro make some lovely bags and I have one or two but there are many out there which offer similar levels of quality and protection and at all price levels.

My wife has a pair of Canon IS bino’s which are bulkier than your Nikons and she uses a Billingham Galbin bag for hers. Not cheap but truly superb. Having owned a pair of Terra’s in the past, I doubt that their case would be big enough.

As for the bino’s it would be lovely if you could give a few thoughts on them as I am interested in the 12x and, as Hermann has alluded, reports are thin on the ground.

Best of luck in your search.

That's a good idea, a case for a compact camera might fit perfectly. Yes I will most certainly write a review, so far I am very impressed and hopefully when the weather improves I will get to spend some time with them. My previous binoculars was the Canon 10x42L but decided I wanted something that was more travel friendly while keeping the IS technology.

Thank you for the recommendation. I suspected that the Zeiss Terra case might be abit small. I live in Bournemouth so my local shop is castle cameras so I'll try and pop in and see if they have any cases that might be suitable.

Thank you all for your replies. I'll post an update when I find a suitable case.
