Nikon ED50: green or black - vote please! (1 Viewer)

All optics should be black, except for the lenses. No gold logos, just raised black rubber that says Nikon etc.

My cameras also should be black, I dislike silver.

For you, maybe green if it matches your outfit. ;)

I have now picked up the package. It was surprisingly large, but the cause of it was, of course, that the scope was so carefully packaged. When I opened it I could scarcely believe what I saw. I had expected a small scope, but not so tiny. Not as plastic as I expected, either. I´m also pleased with the grey colour. I think it´s nice in gray, quite delicious, actually. The focus is smooth and optics are brilliant. Suspect that I can live with this little thing in the future .. :-O

Congratulations, Kingfisher....silly jokes aside, the colour of course doesn´t matter, as we all know. Just wait till you use the ED50 in the field; shortly you´ll wonder how you ever lived without it!:t: P.S. - ask Santa for the 27xw eyepiece. You´ll forget your ED82 is away for repairs!

I tested the scope a bit tonight. Optics are very nice, no doubt about it. The 13-40x eyepiece is really good, but the 27xW eyepiece can certainly be the perfect match for ED50. I also have the 16xW. It´s useful, but the 27xW should definitely be a more all-round eyepiece. Tomorrow, I will test the scope properly in the field. It will be interesting .. |=)|

Now I have ordered a 27x DS eye piece, too. The zoom is fine, but I feel there are a lot of "zooming" back and forth with it. I think it will be interesting to see if the 27x eye piece lives up to reputation .. :)
