Buying binoculars on ebay (1 Viewer)

Just a quick warning to anyone who may be looking at buying new optics through ebay.
At the moment in the UK a lot of dealers are getting caught out and selling optics to a person/persons who is either paying with dodgy credit cards or forged postal orders.
These instruments are then appearing on ebay for sale. They are mainly Leica, Swarovski and Zeiss but there have also been some high-end Bushnells. They are all sold as brand new, boxed and never used.
If you are considering buying optics in this way do not buy them from someone who will only sell to people who can collect from an address in the E6 or E7 areas of London and who will only accept cash or uncrossed postal orders as payment.
It may be worth contacting the UK distributors first - most of them have a list of serial numbers of recently stolen instruments and a simple call may save you a lot of money.

Wish it was that simple. He has goods delivered to certain addresses which normally turn out to be corridors in apartment blocks. When the post arrives he manages to catch the postman just as he is leaving for work - outside the door. The same story when people arrive to collect the items they have won on ebay. All the addresses he uses are appartments with communal corridors or reception areas - and he uses a lot of different addresses.

The actual addresses are either empty or the homes of old people.

His phone number is a pay-as-you-go.........untraceable

He will not accept cheques or crossed postal orders.......no traceable bank details.

All his emails are sent from internet cafes.......untraceable.
