23/2/14 Hartshill sewage works 2 Siberian Chiffchaff by ouflow also 3 Chiffchaff. Opposite side of river bridge which is in the parish of Mancetter 3 Chiffchaff.

6 Common Chiffchaff either side of bridge this afternoon per A Archer. No sign of "Siberians".

24/2/14 Hams Hall sewer outflow Humess leaf warbler 9:25-9:50 in extensive bramble behind the warehouse. Also 6 Chiffchaff in the area ( 5 heard singing), also Green Sand and a pair of Goosander.

John they're not giving Collybita type calls they are Collybita calls! However the 1 bird at Alrewas on the 2nd was heard to call as Tristis! Only problem being they were both together in the same bush at the time! The bird still present has only ever given a Collybita call

There is no debate John!! I may be wrong in suggesting Collybita (Nominate) But the fact is these birds are calling as such so should remain as Unidentified!! Just in case you still want to spout total rubbish from books & misquotes which you seem ready to do rather than actually reading in full then choosing the bits what suit you here's a sonogram from the Alrewas bird which no doubt if I went & recorded the Hartshill birds (By your own admission are calling normally)would prove the same! Just in case you want to reply iv'e also got a rather long explanation from some one a lot better placed than myself which I'm quite happy to post & also have permission to post

P.S it's a standard Collybita/Abietinus

Popped down on Saturday although it had been seen around 30 minutes before I turned up, but no joy for me while I was there plenty of Chiffchaff calling and a Grey Wagtail on the river. With the Sun and Chiffchaff calling it felt quite Spring like.

3/1/14 Hams Hall sewer outflow 9:25 Hume's feeding on road embankment this morning also 4 Chiffchaff (3 singing). Green Sandpiper, Siberian Chiffchaff by bridge behind Wincanton's warehouse gave 2 peeps then flew up river.
