Hartshill Hayes vis mig

24/10/13 Today 7 Brambling with a good passage of Chaffinch, Fieldfare and Starling now coming in, late passage of Meadow Pipit, 3 Crossbill seen and a Chiffchaff present.

28/10/13 Fem/imm Red Crested Pochard small East pool 11:30 in roost position later reported as a female.
Also pair of Shoveler, Chiffchaff and 7 Siskin.

10/11/13 Hams Hall sewer outflow Siberian Chiffchaff calling well (reported to birdguides as such but came out as Firecrest, is that's what they mean by plumage morphing).
Also 2 Chiffchaff, Green Sand and goosander on the river.
Ladywalk 2 Chiffchaff, 5 Goosander, Common Darter and Comma Butterfly.

9/12/13 Hams Hall sewer outflow 4 Chiffchaff in area plus a bird with plumage of Siberian Chiffchaff on the uppers and very pale below but lacking the buff to the upperchest and giving a collybita type short note at intervals.
Also Green Sand on the river.

went down to Draycote water yesterday, to try and spot the Great Northern Diver.

After an hour of searching, we were starting to head back when 20 yards from us up it popped, a real pleasure to be able to stand and admire without the need for optics etc.

Seemed to enjoy being the centre of attention.

A nice res and will certainly visit again

Is there access to here for the general public and where is best part to look for Diver on a flying visit.

Parking £2.50 ,for Farborough bank walk from the car park towards the visitor centre and go to your right ,see the site map. Of course the Diver could be anywhere but Farborough bank seems to be where it is reported from most.
A full circuit is about 5 miles.
