Overview
Yosemite National Park, located in California (195 miles from San Francisco or 313 miles from Los Angeles), was one of the first wilderness parks in the United States. It is 747,956 acres in size (almost 1,200 square miles) and is best known for the waterfalls, deep scenic valleys, giant sequoias, great meadows and enormous wilderness areas. 234 species of birds have been counted in the park.
