Identification
33cm (13 in)
- Bluish-grey top of head, cheeks and nape
- Yellowish-green wash on forehead
- Yellowish-green throat
- Yellow neck
- Yellow feet and legs
Distribution
Asia: found in China, Nepal, Pakistan, India, Eastern and Western Himalayas, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh
Southeast Asia: Indochina, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.

Subspecies
Five subspecies are recognized:[1]
- T. p. phillipsi:
- T. p. chlorigaster
- Peninsular India south of the Gangetic Plain
- T. p. phoenicopterus:
- Eastern Pakistan and northern India to Assam and Bangladesh
- T. p. viridifrons:
- T. p. annamensis:
Habitat
Dry decideous forests amongst fruiting trees, gardens.
Behaviour
Diet
The diet includes fruit, especially figs.
