Distribution
South America: found in Colombia, Venezuela, the Guianas (Guyana, French Guiana, Suriname) Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay and Argentina.
Taxonomy
Subspecies
There are 7 subspecies[1]
- P. c. antioquiae: Central Andes of Colombia (Antioquia)
- P. c. boliviana: Tropical Venezuela northern Bolivia and south-western Amazonian Brazil
- P. c. chlorion: Tropical south-eastern the Guianas and northern Brazil
- P. c. chloris: South East Brazil (Espírito Santo) to eastern Paraguay and north-eastern Argentina
- P. c. grisescens: Brazil (eastern Pará)
- P. c. perijana: Sierra de Perijá (eastern Colombia) and Andes of western Venezuela
- P. c. tschudii: Tropical south-eastern Colombia to central Peru and north-western Brazil
Habitat
Rain forests.
