Distribution
Asia: China, Tibet, Nepal, India, Bhutan
Southeast Asia: Indochina, Myanmar, Malaysia, Malay Peninsula

- Mountains of Taiwan
Placed in genus Cinclidium by Clements.
Habitat
Dense undergrowth of moist evergreen broadleaf montain rainforest in middle-high elevations; near running water.
Behaviour
A very restive forest bird.
Diet
The diet includes insects and berries.
