Identification
13.5–14 cm
- Rusty brown breast and cheeks
- Long white eyebrow
- Brown back
Distribution
Mountains of western China (Qinghai to south-eastern Tibet, Gansu and Sichuan).
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Scientific name has in the past been given as Parus superciliosus or Poecile superciliosa.
Habitat
Mountain forests with berberis, rhamnus, rhododendron and salix.
Behaviour
A ground-nester, it chooses old rodent burrows or rock crevices to conceal the nest.
