Africa: Found from central Malawi to adjacent northern Mozambique and eastern Zambia.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species.
It has been considered conspecific with Cape Bunting in the past.

Behaviour

Diet

It feeds on the ground on seeds, insects and spiders.
