Distribution

South America: Found locally in the Andes of central and southeastern Peru, Bolivia, and northwestern Argentina.

Taxonomy

This species was until recently placed in genus Leptasthenura

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Moist montanes and high-altitude shrubland.

Behaviour

Diet

The diet includes insects.
