Identification

Distribution

Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Falkland Islands, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

Taxonomy

Monotypic within the genus Alopochelidon. Sometimes placed in the genus Stelgidopteryx.

Habitat

Dry savanna or tropical seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland.
